Nightjar Walk Near Godshill
Saturday 30 May 2026
18:30 to 23:00
A short walk, perhaps 2 miles, on heathland. Nightjars are likely to have arrived and, hopefully, be displaying. Other birds that we might hear at dusk in this area are Song Thrush, Stonechat, Cuckoo, Snipe, Lapwing, Curlew, Tawny Owl. Unless we have thick cloud, it should be possible to walk without torches and maintain adequate night vision for the birds. Take the road from Godshill to Blissford and turn left on a gravel track immediately after the ford. After 400 metres, there’s space to park.
