Photographic Competition
The photographic competition is now ready to receive your entries, with the end deadline for entries being the 19th of November (enabling a final reminder at the AGM the day before!).
Please give your photograph a title and state which category each photograph is entering. This competition is open to SDNHS members only. All the photos that have been entered will then be displayed on the society’s website under each category, from the 21st November, and members will be able to vote for their favourite photo in each of the 6 categories. Having voted in each category, you will then also be asked to vote for your single, overall favourite photograph in the whole competition. Please do not vote for your own entrees. The closing date for voting will be the 6th December. The link to the competition website voting page will be displayed in the November bulletin. The top three photos in each category, collecting the most votes, will then be displayed at the Members evening on the 10th December, including of course – the overall winner.
There will be a £10 prize for the photo with the most votes in each category. The photo which has received the most “best in competition” votes, will be declared the overall winner of the competition and will receive a £50 prize! In the case of any draw, then a professional photographer, who is not participating in the competition, will choose the winner.
There are 6 categories which you can enter: Birds, Other Vertebrates, Invertebrates, Flora, Fungi/Lichen, Countryside/Landscape. Only one photo per category is allowed
and the photo must have been taken in the UK. Images should be no wider than1600px and no taller than 1200px and should be no more than 1MB in size.
